Hello and welcome to the NCR Hillwalking & Climbing Club website. We are based in Dundee, Scotland and have a membership of around 50 keen hill goers. Our club has been running since the late 1940's when our employer NCR Financial Systems Ltd came to Dundee.
In the coming year we shall be running a day meet and a weekend meet every month. We travel to many different areas of Scotland. We welcome all hill goers of any age and ability, providing they are properly equipped. Our members are a broad mix from low level rambler types to hardy crag bound dangler types. The majority however fall in the mid ground and enjoy a bit of everything from climbing, walking, skiing, cycling, Munro bagging and of course the odd drink or two in the various pubs we visit.
Around 25 members usually turn out for the day meets (usually more in good weather). Despite this large number of people on our meets, we generally encourage smaller groups whilst out on the hills. We also ensure that newcomers are accompanied by a more experienced member of the club, this ensures their safety and also helps the newcomer to get know everyone a bit easier. We encourage walkers and climbers of all ages and experience to join the club, our only stipulation is that they are properly equipped for the route they wish to do.

Our weekend meets are smaller in scale, with around ten hardy souls departing NCR in Dundee once a month for a weekend of camping, bothies, banter and of course we also climb and walk some hills. Our most popular meets are the Christmas meet when around twenty turn up for a party weekend, we even manage to do the odd hill on this meet and also enjoy a Christmas Dinner prepared by our various talented members.
Every year we visit Skye (August 15 - 17 this year) and this too proves very popular with our members as we all love climbing in the Cuillin. When in Skye we usually camp at Glen Brittle on the Friday night and an early start ensures a full day of activities in the Cuillin. Saturday evening finds us moving back to Sligachan where we camp near the Sliggy Inn for a few drinks. Sunday morning and some nurse hangovers with a lie-in, whilst the hardy club members head back to the Cuillin for more mountain adventures.
